What is the significance of the fix located 1.9NM to RW17 on the RNAV (GPS) RWY17 approach procedure depicted below?
1.9NM to RW17 indicates the visual decent point (VDP). The VDP is a defined point on a straight-in, non-precision approach from which you can descend below the MDA, as long as you have the required visual reference.
